I like the dispersion of the bird from the lighter area into the darker area...showing the opposite perception that we usually percieved which you leaving the dark area to lighter area...in this shot...the corner of the shot needs to be either into to the frame more or it needs to be off the frame completely. another thing is that the dark part is a bit too dark...abit lighter would be nice...but dark enough to contrast the lighter part...:) i have a similar shot in my gallery

i'll try to do the things you said and see if it's better.

imi place cum pasarile incet incet intru in partea mai intunecata a cerului ca si cum s-ar duce in lumea rea iar unele raman inca in lumea buna [nu stiu de ce, dar asta a fost prima interpretare cand am privit poza]
still, e foarte reusita poza si cred ca o prefer mai mult pe asta decat pe cealalta fiindca imi plac mai mult tonurile :heart:
